Here at the Hilltop Ceilidh Band, ceilidhs are taken very seriously! We want you to have a great time. Whether you’re a barn dance newbie or an accomplished ceilidh dancer. It doesn’t matter whether your ceilidh is large or small, whether you want a 3-piece line up or a veritable ensemble: we make it happen. Size doesn’t matter! We’ve got everything you need for a ceilidh; from charismatic callers and talented musicians, to top of the range equipment and service. We take out the stress from your event, so you can kick back and have fun.
James Kerry’s Hilltop Ceilidh Band have been calling the steps and ringing the changes on the UK ceilidh scene long enough to earn a large following. They build on this core; drawing on events management experience and sound & lighting expertise to deliver a comprehensive barn dance package. The result is that everything from the equipment installation, to energetic performance and entertaining callers is provided for you. All you have to take care of is the dancing! Through our sister company, Powder Mill Productions we can also offer a massive collection of rustic props and decor and even mobile bars!

We pride ourself on our reliable musicians and competent (and patient!) callers who won’t leave you stranded. We also have a large pool of top class deputies to ensure nothing can go wrong. We have an extensive repertoire of tunes and dances to ensure you are ‘stripping the willow’ all evening, along with top of the range PA systems that not only sound great but look sleek and modern in your venue. We can also offer sound and light upgrades, staging and professional sound engineers for larger events.
How did we come about?
In 2016 professional folk musician, James Kerry noticed a gap in the market for a full service functions/event ceilidh band, after a year of planning and head hunting the UK’s best ceilidh musicians, the Hilltop Ceilidh Band was born (named after the road James grew up on). We cater for all events, ranging from weddings to business functions to festivals where we entertain the guests with contemporary and traditional ceilidh tunes and dances. The band has adapted to cope with current market trends and offers extras such as disco packages and bespoke music composition. Hilltop is run and managed totally independently by James and his bookings coordinator, Hannah.
